The Studio Makeup School is about to launch in Wellington with a three-day fashion and editorial makeup workshop for professional hairdressers.
NZ's makeup guru Michele Perry will kick off this technical and creative workshop with a two-day intensive makeup boot camp. Students will be taught the basics of photographic makeup and and then go on to master exciting new techniques for achieving high fashion editorial makeup looks.
On the third day of the workshop, renowned fashion photographer Tim Watson will shift the focus to the key ingredients for a successful photographic shoot, covering model casting and styling concepts through to lighting techniques and general shoot etiquette. As part of this session, students will have the opportunity to direct a professional photographic shoot of their own hair and makeup work for their portfolios.
The workshop will run on three consecutive Sundays at Studio 62, 62 Hutt Road Petone. Studio 62 is Wellington's leading photographic studio and comes equipped with a makeup room so students will practice their skills in professional surroundings. Classes will be restricted to eight so students are ensured the highest level of individual attention.
